Amongst growing concern that health inequalities in the U.K. are adversely affecting the roll-out of the national Covid vaccination programme, C4PC is drawing together a broad range of partner organisations to provide valuable insight from a range of perspectives which could help to tackle the issue.
As part of the ongoing work throughout 2021 by the Coalition’s Health Inequalities Taskgroup, a special Roundtable event will explore emerging best practice and make recommendations on how to overcome scepticism, hesitancy, and reluctance, to increase vaccine take-up by key disadvantaged and vulnerable groups.  The event will be chaired by Clenton Farquharson MBE and speakers will include Dr Bola Owolabi, Head of the Health Inequalities workstream for NHSEI.
The discussions, which will take place at the end of February 2021, will look also at how the voice of lived experience and co-production can play an important part in empowering local communities to create greater health resilience.
Following the event, a report will be produced, which will be of immediate interest and utility to both policy makers and frontline practitioners currently tackling inequalities or planning for tackling the post-pandemic treatment backlog. The report and related case studies will be made available publicly. If you want to make sure that you don’t miss it, sign up to our newsletter or follow us on Twitter or Linkedin.

This timely, pro-active event is a good illustration of how the Coalition’s diverse range of expertise and perspectives can tackle complex issues in real time, by providing analysis and practical recommendations for wider use.
