Please join us in welcoming Pain UK as a Coalition for Personalised Care (C4PC) Partner.
Pain UK is an alliance of charities providing support and help for people living with chronic pain. Representing over 30 large and small charities from across the UK, Pain UK aims to enable people living with pain to have the best quality of life possible.
Jess Potts, Pain UK Chair, explained, “Our mission at Pain UK is to provide a stronger voice for people living with long-term pain.
“We believe that an estimated 28 million people currently living with chronic pain across the UK can be supported to achieve a better quality of life through improved health and care options.”
The Pain UK Call to Action highlights several ways that people living with pain could be supported. These include key components of Personalised Care delivery such as actively involving people in supported self-management and providing information and advice on what they can expect from health and social care systems, services and practitioners.
Emma Geldart, C4PC Programme Manager, said “Pain UK brings together experts such as researchers, doctors, consultants, nurses and clinicians, as well as individual members with lived experience of chronic pain.
“With the set-up of their Clinical Advisory Board and the Pain UK Charity Members’ Network, they will be able to provide the Coalition with a rounded and supported view on the lived experience of pain.”
Pain UK plans to publish research into living with pain in the British Journal of Pain in the near future. In the meantime, we look forward to hearing from them at upcoming Partner events.
